Past winners of ZS PRIZE on why healthtech startups and innovators should apply for the healthcare tech challenge

ZS PRIZE healthcare tech challenge provides healthtech startups, working professionals, and student innovators a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to solve for India’s most pressing healthcare challenges and showcase their solutions to an eminent jury panel, said the winners of the inaugural edition of the ZS PRIZE award initiative.

Currently in its second edition, ZS PRIZE is an initiative by global management consulting and technology firm ZS to recognise, celebrate, and advance the most novel and impactful tech-enabled healthcare innovations solving for India.

Past winners cited a number of reasons why healthtech startups, working professionals, and students should apply for the latest edition of the ZS PRIZE healthcare tech challenge, including the in-depth six-week-long mentorship program, an opportunity to receive validation and feedback from a jury comprising some of the biggest names in the healthcare and technology industry, and win a share of the Rs. 1.5 crore prize money.

Here’s a look at what some of the past winners of ZS PRIZE have to say about the healthcare tech challenge and their advice to potential participants of the second edition:

Harsh Tyagi, Co-founder, Stamurai

ZS Prize gives you a chance to pitch to the biggest names in the industry, which I don’t think is possible anywhere else. They not only critique your work but also give you feedback. Also, the ZS PRIZE award money is huge and it has helped us out so much. I think every startup in India must join ZS PRIZE, as it will definitely help them.

Rashbehari Tunga, MD and Founder, Ameliorate Biotech

Participating in ZS PRIZE inaugural edition was very encouraging for us, because pitching to the team helped us see where we stand with respect to our innovation and our idea and define the path ahead for us. As a startup, we felt that there are a lot of things which we needed to know and we also needed a mentor. So, even if we would not have won, still, the journey itself would have meant a lot for us to understand where we stand.

Joginder Tanikella, Founder & CEO, Pulse Active Stations Network

The concept that ZS has launched – which is to find people and startups across India and incentivize and encourage them to do better in the healthcare space – didn’t exist before. I really liked the fact there were about 30,000+ teams which had applied and that ZS PRIZE went through all the applications and then selected the semi finalists and finalists. I really appreciate the whole concept behind ZS PRIZE. I think everybody should start off by applying to ZS PRIZE. Recently, I ended up doing a demo for Apollo Hospitals and I came to know that was because Ms. Sangeeta Reddy had actually called for us and that probably happened because she was in the ZS PRIZE jury for the inaugural edition.

Shantanu Pathak, Co-founder, Care Mother

As an entrepreneur, we all have certain questions and the mentoring program at ZS PRIZE helped us get answers or at least direction for those questions on how we should deal with it. The opportunities we received through ZS PRIZE was not limited to just the mentoring and the award or prize money but also the connections they helped us make with certain foundations and people who were in need of our product.
