Manchester United will need to pay a fee of around €70m to sign Ajax winger Antony this summer, De Telegraaf claims.
The Red Devils signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund to bolster the right wing department last summer, but he hardly impressed.
The England international failed to make sufficient impact on the right flank, and was only successful after switching to the left side of the attack.
Hence, the club could look to sign another right-winger. Antony has emerged as the prime target, but it appears Ajax won’t sell him on the cheap.
In the past, Ajax have sold their prized assets for around €30-40m, but De Telegraaf claims that Antony will only be available for €70-80m.
Ajax centre-backs Jurrien Timber and Lisandro Martinez have also been linked with United lately, but they will cost at least €50m this summer.
The news will come as a big blow for the Red Devils, who were hoping to reunite Antony with manager Erik ten Hag in a deal worth €50m.
