UPSC is going to release the CISF Assistant Commandant (Executive) Recruitment Notification 2022 on 30 November 2022. So all the aspirants of this Grade A gazetted officer post having a monthly salary going up to 1.5 lakh rupees, can start preparing for this vacancy.

What is an Assistant Commandant?

An Assistant Commandant is a highly ranked Grade A gazetted officer in the Central Armed Police Forces. The rank of assistant commandant is equivalent to the ranks of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and Captain in the Indian Army.

Every year, UPSC conducts exams to fill up Assistant Commandant posts in various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) including the CISF. The other six CAPFs are ITBP, SSB, CRPF, BSF, Assam Rifles, and NSG

What is the role of CISF?

Central Industrial Security Forces, CISF’s job is to secure and protect the installation of national importance such as nuclear facilities, airports, seaports, space establishments, power plants, sensitive Government buildings and heritage monuments.

Selection Process for CISF Assistant Commandant

Written Test (Paper 1 & 2)

Physical Efficiency Test followed by a Medical Efficiency Test

Personality Test/Interview (150 marks)

Exam Pattern

Paper-I:

It consists of questions on General Ability and Intelligence and Professional Skill:
150 objective-type MCQs of 300 marks will be asked and you get 2.5 hours to complete the test.

Paper-II

It consists of questions on Essay, Precis Writing and Comprehension
It’s a subjective type of paper with a total of 100 marks, and you get 2 hours to complete the test.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for the Written Exam

There are no fixed Minimum Qualifying Marks. It keeps varying as per CAPF requirements
Unless you pass both papers separately, you don’t proceed to the next round of selection which is the “Physical Test.” Only those candidates who pass the Physical Test can appear in the final round of selection which is the Personality Test/Interview.

For General/OBC: Rs 200

For SC/ST and Women of all categories: No Fee

Age limit

Minimum Age: 20 years

Maximum Age: 25 years

Eligibility

All you need to have is a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a government recognized University/Institution

Height, Weight, and Chest Requirements:

Minimum Height For Men

165 cms (Gen & SC) and 162.5 cms (ST)

Minimum Height for Women

157 Cms (Gen & SC) and 154 cms (ST)

Minimum Chest for Men

unexpanded: 81 cms

expanded: 86 cms

Minimum Chest for Women

Chest Criteria do not apply to Women Candidates

Minimum Weight

Weight must be corresponding to your Height

Apart from satisfying the physical measurement criteria, candidates also have to pass 3 efficiency tests as follows: 100m & 800m Race, Long Jump, and Shot Put (7.26 kg).
