Choreographer Saroj Khan showers praise on Madhuri Dixit, calls her “beautiful student” and ‘perfect dancer” – Times of India

Apart from being one of the most beautiful and talented actresses, Madhuri Dixit-Nene is also one phenomenal dancer. She has delivered some foot-tapping numbers like, ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Tamma Tamma’, ‘Dhak Dhak’, ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ and others. And in all of these her collaborations with choreographer Saroj Khan have been the most successful.
On the occasion of Madhuri’s birthday on May 15, Saroj Khan opened about her favourite student to Mumbai Mirror in an interview. Talking about the actress, she reportedly said they have worked together in many songs and they have enjoyed each other’s dances. According to her Madhuri is a beautiful student and a perfect dancer. However, she also added that she didn’t know Hollywood-Bollywood dancing.

Elaborating more, she added that in Kathak, you don’t have to move your hips. It’s considered a taboo. So, she was nervous before. She remembered that their story began from the sets of ‘Uttar Dakshin’. Saroj Khan revealed that although she took some time, she learned very quickly.

After ‘Tezaab’, Madhuri was a hit. Reminiscing the time when they rehearsed for the song, ‘Ek Do Teen’, Saroj Khan averred that Madhuri rehearsed for 17 days. She wanted to achieve the highest level of perfection in that song. She had completed her training in just 10 days. She also added that she asked her to leave telling her that she would train the group now but she refused. She wanted to continue the training and she said that she would just stand in the corner and keep her rehearsals on while she is teaching others. Saroj added that Madhuri was very sincere and the results are for all to see.

In conclusion, Saroj added that she doesn’t see Madhuri in any actress today. There is Aishwarya and Deepika who are very good dancers. But, they have their style. Aishwarya and Madhuri danced together on ‘Dola Dola’. The form was the same but their styles were different.
