Manchester United have their sights on landing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice during the summer transfer window.
The England star is one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and he is expected to leave the Hammers at the end of the season.
Chelsea are long-term admirers of the 24-year-old, who was in their academy but they are set to face stiff competition this summer.
According to 90min, the Red Devils are genuine contenders to land Rice, who has his sights on playing Champions League football.
The Hammers are likely to demand around £100m for the defensive midfielder, who has also been on the radar of Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the midfielder’s talents and there could be a possible bidding war for his services this summer.
Rice is likely to give preference to Champions League clubs and this could well put Chelsea out of the race to land his signature.
While Arsenal and United are on course to qualify for the competition via the league, Chelsea are currently 11 points behind the top four.
