Chelsea have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion defender Marc Cucurella over personal terms, Fabrizio Romano claims.
The Blues recently entered the race to sign the Spain international after Manchester City made it clear that they can’t afford him.
The Cityzens were eager to Cucurella last month, but their £40 million bid fell short of the Seagulls’ valuation of around £50 million.
They now need to find a suitable agreement with the Seagulls. Levi Colwill is likely to be used as a makeweight to reduce the price.
Cucurella should be a quality signing for the west London giants as he is strong defensively and offensively from left wing-back.
He can also play on the left side of the back three, and his versatility should be an added boost for manager Thomas Tuchel next term.
His arrival should pave the way for Marcos Alonso‘s move to Barcelona.
